Install FireStorm
FireStorm is a web app. It runs from this website, but for the best phone/tablet experience you should add or install it to your Home Screen so it launches fullscreen like a regular app.
iPhone / iPad
- Open this page in Safari. Do not use the in-app browser from Messages, Facebook, Gmail, etc.
- Tap the Share button.
- Choose Add to Home Screen.
- Name it FireStorm.
- If your device shows an option like Open as Web App or Launch as Web App, make sure it is enabled.
- Tap Add.
- Launch FireStorm from the new Home Screen icon.
On iPhone and iPad, using the Home Screen icon is what gives you the fullscreen app-style experience.
Android / Chrome
- Open this page in Chrome.
- Tap the ⋮ menu.
- Choose Install app if it appears.
- If Chrome only shows Create shortcut, that is not the full app install. Open the Android Install Check above and follow what it reports.
- After install, launch FireStorm from the app icon.
The button above may trigger Android/Chrome’s install prompt when the browser has made it available.
Offline / No Service
FireStorm can keep working offline after it has been opened once while online. Before a trip or summer camp drive:
- Open FireStorm while you still have service or Wi-Fi.
- Install/Add it to your Home Screen.
- Open the installed app once while online.
- Start a quick test round.
- Turn on Airplane Mode and reopen FireStorm to confirm it still loads.
The game, timer, scrambles, stats, history, sound, inspection timer, and scoring are local. External links still need service.
Desktop
FireStorm also works in a normal desktop browser. Chrome and Edge may offer an install icon in the address bar so it can open in its own app window.
Troubleshooting
- No sound on iPad/iPhone: open Help inside FireStorm and tap Enable / Test Sound. Also check volume, silent/focus modes, and Bluetooth audio output.
- Android only makes a shortcut: use Chrome directly, not another app’s browser, and run the Android Install Check.
- Old version still appears: fully close and reopen the installed app. If needed, delete/re-add the Home Screen icon/app.
